Valente Lane Candles

 Del Rio has had the strangest weather this summer. Mind you I am not complaining as it has not been nearly as hot as last year, plus we have had more moisture which is always a good thing when you live in Texas. So we may be indoors more often because of the Precipitation we have gotten, and that can make indoors also stuffy. Well it has been very hectic with work and with my sons sports so my blog has suffered a little. But I continually try to improve my candles and products and web site. To begin first I am discontinuing my Honey Pot Jars, not because of look or style, but shipping and handling is just as much as the jars and had to get them from the East Coast. I found a simply elegant style jar that I can get right here in Houston called the Balmoral Jar. It also comes in 5 sizes, 5,9,16,24 & 32oz. I do not have to change lid designs and the way the jar is made they burn evenly. I simply love the new style which will fit in with any decor. Second we are working on my front page of my web site, which will now be featuring specials, news, pics, and latest to my blogs, that way when my customers come there they can see the latest and not the same old thing. I am extremely excited. Also put this on your calendar. June 2, 2007 the street market square will be in the evening from 6-9pm, there will be food tasting, live music and the streets will be blocked off for the activities, I’m telling you this is going to be fun so don’t miss it!!!!! First I want to thank everyone for their purchases and compliments and loyalty, it has been a joy making you all happy. I did very well at the Fort Clark craft show thanks to many people, that was one I will participate in next year because it was so fun! Also I want everyone to know that my front page will be changing a little, I will be able to post specials, write comments from customers and spruce it up a bit instead of the same old thing all the time. I also will be phasing out the honey pot jar as I found a company who has a more elegant jar and 5 sizes instead of 3 so I will be able to offer a 32oz jar in the next 2 months. To achieve more traffic I am going to be researching and exploring the wonderful world of blogging. I have been told this tool is wonderful in meeting people, helping to get hits on websites and finding loads of information out there in the wonderful world of technology. So I have heard about this new site to start blogging at and one of the requirements is to link my blog to their blog. I will also write another on candles and try my best to do more than one a month. But for all you fanatics who love craft shows there is one this saturday at Fort Clark in Brackettville. I hear this is a huge show and is done every  year. This will be my first year doing this show. Hi to all my customers and new customers. I have extremely exciting news to tell you! As you know I love my candles and love it when my customers say they love my candles. That is so rewarding to me, I cannot begin to describe the feeling it gives me to make people happy. Sherry Davenport owner along with husband Clayton, contacted me about my candles and told me she had grown up on Valente Lane and was a large candle retailer in Del Rio and wanted to support her hometown, by supporting me and offered to sell my line of candles. You can only imagine how exciting that is for me. Now don’t think we talked about pricing and no she will not sell them for more than I do. They will be sold for what I sell them for and She is going to be carrying the Metro Jars 8oz and 12oz but because the jar is more expensive (Libbey Brand) I had to raise my price just a little. The 8oz jars will be $9.95 and the 12oz will be $14.95. They also will contain the palm wax I so love or better known as vegetable wax. I have been making candles now for almost 2 years and have tested a fair amount of candle wax over this period. I perosonally have a favorite wax, which by the way is not very popular yet in the candle industry. This wax happens to be best known as vegetable or palm wax. Here is a small discription of the wax, it has a unique crystal-textured appearance, has great scent throw if you use the right brand of fragrance, burns absoutley clean and is all natural. It has taken me a while to achieve the scent throw that I want my candle to produce, but once I did, this has become a best seller for me! Paraffin wax is still the number one wax used and bought with soy close behind, and palm trudgeing along. Mark my words one day the look and burn of this wax will catch on and be number one someday. I do a lot a lot of web searching on candle sites, forums, news, blogs and whatever I can click on too for new information about scented candles of any kind. I love candles pure and simple. I love to create candles that people say they just love the look, smell and ambiance that my candles give them. Lets face it I love to make candle people happy with the purchase they made from me.
